Great shot of this beautiful wild animal. Reminds me of the Siberian Husky I had years ago. Matter of fact, we called her wolf. Must have been an interesting drive through this wildlife park.

Thanks John! I have a neighbor with a husky named 'Sitka' (like the city in AK) -- very beautiful and friendly dog; the blue eyes look surreal.

oh, good.. i thought this was in your farm.. :D but they look magnificent nonetheless.. :)

hi, Rian, thanks! On our farm there are plenty of coyotes, badgers, rabbits, and deer but no wolves!

I so love wolves and they only ever get bad press back home in BC, Canada, even though they were on the land first, then culled by man to build, now reisntated and hated once more because they come near the population to forage for food.

These are stunning creatures, the essence of being wild (OK, I know these ones ar in a wildlife park), and your frames are superb here, making me long to be near wolves once more. They have an incredible pack spirit and are very social, loyal and clever in hunting terms, everything lacking in mankind I'd venture to suggest.

Wonderful frames, Mark.

Wonderful pictures and after reading all the comments, I agree with them all, wolves are wonderful creatures, you captured them very well.
Wonderful to see them in the 'natural surrounding' in stead of a cage at the zoo....

awh, is it penned up or just a cross fence?

Sherri, at this park there are a bunch of isolated open areas that you drive through. Each section is several acres, but is fenced from each other section to keep the animals separated. Typically you drive across a cattle guard or something of that nature that prevents the animals from crossing from one zone into the other.

This works so well because of the low angle! The light is wonderfully captured!
